Day 361

When I worked at LSMSA, one of my favorite things to do on Saturday morning was wake up early, go for a run before my building opened, and come back for a hot shower and a morning nap. I was usually fortunate that there weren’t too many shenanigans on Saturday morning, because most of the students slept in, too.

These days, it’s rare for me to get up “it’s still dark” early and run, and when I do, it’s usually because the rest of my day is packed with other stuff to do. Thus, it’s rare that I catch a morning nap after a run.  Today, however, I hit the jackpot. I met my new friend Ken at 5:30 this morning, and we ran 5.2 miles together. I needed 10 miles, so I kept going. I felt good the whole time, which was especially appreciated after feeling puny most of last week. When I finished, I showered and jumped in bed for a morning nap. It was as good as I remembered morning naps being.

This afternoon, I did a few more fitness things as part of Varsity’s Core Challenge. First, I did a rowing workout at Hotworx, which was challenging, but I also can’t wait to try more of their workouts. Then, Sandra and I went to goat yoga! It wasn’t the longest, most challenging, or best smelling yoga class I’ve ever attended, but man it was fun. Added bonuses included new experiences such as seeing a pregnant goat and having a goat try to eat my shirt.

To complete the day, Richard met Sandra, Sarah, and me at Fuzzy’s for dinner. Later, Richard and I grabbed boba tea because I wanted to try a place that recently opened near our house. It’s been a good weekend, and I’m excited for the week, especially attending the ACPA conference!

Something that made today great: Today was not stressful at all.
Time I woke up: 5:00 am
